I have a dear friend who is making a quilts for *MAKING MEMORIES*......its for breast cancer survivors and people donate their wedding dresses and the profits go to Making Memories.

The people that send their gowns to the organization are sold.......the ones that are ripped or stained are  sent to people like me that offer to make a quilt to also be sold in one of their sales...

The only problem she is having.....is that they sent her dresses to use but many are unusable...for instance...one that she picked up out of the box was vintage...and VERY RIPE........one of them I think came here with the wagon train...*giggle* and was stored in a coal bin....very very gray ...She had it cleaned but to no avail...To put all the time and care into making a quilt it would be silly to use something that would fall apart with the first use.

The saving grace for her to get started was that a girlfriend of mine mentioned it at work and a co-worker donated her wedding dress to her.....it is lovely and has nice new satin and lace that sheI can readily use.

So anyway...I just thought that I would mention it  in case  you hear of a lonely wedding dress that someone is hoping will be put to good use and they don't really want to see it sitting in a thrift store..:)
Thanks
